The year was 2016, and the easy-going bots we'd grown to know and love on Summoner's Rift had gone rogue. Was it a freak accident? Or the machinations of an evil mastermind? Whatever the cause, countless great warriors took to Summoner's Rift to quell the robotic uprising. After enormous sacrifice, the bots were banished to the shadow realm, left to fade as just another memory…
…UNTIL NOW.
Doom Bots Game Mode Dates
Start - August 27, 2025
End - October 22, 2025
*Dates are subject to change. Always check the in-game schedule for the most accurate information.
What is Doom Bots?
Doom Bots is a rotating game mode where you face five souped-up AI bots with bonus stats and augmented abilities. They've heard the mean things you said about their buddies in Coop Vs A.I., and they have a few words (and a LOT of attacks) for you…
A Doom Bots match is always a race against the clock. Survive the high octane siege on your base for 15 minutes, and you'll stir the sinister force behind the Doom Bots to action in a thrilling finale worthy of any cinematic universe. Win the day to save the Rift, or meet defeat and bow to your doombotic overlords.
Although Doom Bots takes place on the Summoner's Rift map, there are a few differences:
- During the Laning Phase, fight against a team of five boosted bots (champions are chosen at random), each with variations on their abilities and an increased A.I. difficulty. You'll also have to endure Curses and Trials of Doom, all while attempting to complete two in-game missions. If you succeed, you'll get a reward which might help you survive a bit longer. If you fail… Well, let's just say things can always get worse.
- Still alive after (about) 15 minutes? Impressive! If you survive for 15 minutes, the Boss Phase will trigger, and the Ultimate Evil Boss will appear. This is the final battle, so don't hold back!
Doom Bot matches can be in either Easy or Hard difficulty (your choice!). Bring it on, we dare you!
Curses
Curses are short-term events that introduce even more chaos to the proceedings. Each new Curse replaces the previous one, so at least you usually don't have to deal with more than one Curse at once (or two, in Hard mode).
| Curse | Details |
| Giant Blinding Darts | Darts fire across the map, damaging and blinding players. |
| Tempered Fate | Bard's Tempered Fate (R) is randomly cast near players. |
| Shroud | A shroud (W) is cast to hide the bots. |
| Baleful Strike | Veigar's Baleful Strike (Q) is fired across the map to damage players. Each hit grant Phenomenal Power stacks to the Boss. |
| Dark Matter | Veigar's Dark Matter (W) is randomly cast near players. Each hit grant Phenomenal Power stacks to the Boss. |
| Event Horizon | Veigar's Event Horizon (E) is randomly cast near players (bots can also be stunned). Each hit grant Phenomenal Power stacks to the Boss. |
| Event Horizon + Dark Matter | Double trouble! Each hit (on either ability) grants Phenomenal Power stacks to the Boss. |
| Corrupted Lamb's Respite | Kindred's Lamb's Respite (R) is periodically cast in a pentagon-shaped area on bots. |
| Brush Attack | Teemo's Noxious Traps (R) are thrown out of the brush towards players. |
| Tiny Time | Killing minions grants a Tiny Time buff that increases your speed, but lowers your health and size. Not killing minions removes the buff. |
| Realm Warp | Ryze's Realm Warp (R) is randomly cast near players, bringing them towards the enemy side of the map. |
| Rebirth | Bots are given Anivia's Rebirth passive. |
| Center of the Universe | Bots receive the Center of the Universe Arena augment. |
| Mirror Image | Bots receive the Mirror Image Arena augment. |
| Crescent Guard | Bots randomly gain the shielding from outside-damage from Xin Zhao's Crescent Guard (R). |
| Tornado Chaser | A tornado chases players around the map, knocking them up on contact. Then, the tornado randomly chases the next player. |
| Polymorph Zone | Zones with the Polymorph debuff are periodically cast near players. |
Trials of Doom
Trials of Doom are unique Doom Bots queues that apply an in-game modifier that affects both players and bots. Unlike Curses, Trials of Doom are active the whole match. Dig deep, or perish!
- A new Trial of Doom queue will be enabled on each patch!
| Trial | Details |
| Veigar's Evil! | Champions can level up to Level 30, with bots gaining additional XP from all sources. Players can purchase the Demon's King Crown prismatic item. |
| Veigar's Curse! | Bots gain Veigar's Phenomenal Evil passive. Curses stack, players receive 200 Bonus Item Haste, and the Veigar's Talisman of Ascension item becomes available, which later turns into a Golden Spatula. |
| Veigar's Doom! |
Phase One is shortened to 5 minutes, instead of 15. Bot takedowns add 15 seconds to the timer, Bots deal less and receive more damage, and the Gambler's Blade item becomes available. If the timer reaches 0 before 15 minutes of total duration, you lose! |
In-game Missions
Having fun yet? Since the bots heard that you really enjoy a challenge, to keep things more interesting each match has two in-game missions (a secondary mission, and a main mission which is way more difficult) which can either reward or complicate your chances of success even more. Missions are randomly triggered, but you'll always get one of each.
- The main mission is triggered after 9 minutes of the match, while the secondary mission becomes active 4 minutes into the game
