When it comes to your online identity, you can never be too careful. That’s why HeroCorp Games has introduced multi-factor authentication (MFA): a fast and easy way to keep your information secure. This new level of security will let you rest easy knowing that your purchases, messages, and countless hours of progress are safe, and it only takes a few minutes to set up! We'll even send you some in-game rewards as a little thank you for keeping your account secure.

Read on for all the information you need to secure your account today.

How does MFA work?

Every time you attempt to sign in, you’ll receive a six-digit code either in your HeroCorp Mobile app or through the email associated with your HeroCorp account. Simply enter that code into the prompt, then continue logging in as normal. And that’s really all there is to it! If you don't want to do this every time, you can select a checkbox at sign-in to only enter it every 30 days. 

How do I activate MFA?

1. Sign in to your HeroCorp account page.
2. Locate the Multi-Factor Authentication card.
3. On this card, you'll find an Enable or Resend button. Click the button. This sends you an email to enable Multi-Factor Authentication. (You don't have to guess which email; we give you a hint.)
4. Go to the inbox of your connected email address.
5. Find and open the Multi-Factor Authentication email you received from HeroCorp Games.
   (If you don’t see the email in your inbox, check the spam folder.)
6. From the email, click the Enable Multi-Factor Authentication button.

And that’s all there is to it! From here you’ll be redirected back to your account page, where you’ll see that Multi-Factor Authentication is enabled.

Using HeroCorp Mobile for MFA

HeroCorp Mobile for VALORANT

Starting on Patch 11.09, HeroCorp Mobile MFA will be required for players in NA, LATAM and KR ranked Ascendant or above, as well as for accounts suspected of being shared.

For the quickest hassle-free login, we suggest  downloading HeroCorp Mobile on your preferred mobile device as it can serve as your MFA authenticator. You can also use it to scan the QR code for a quick login.

Activating HeroCorp Mobile

If you are not enrolled, you'll see a banner at the top of the page encouraging you to do so. Scroll down or click the "Enroll" button on the banner to activate MFA options.

NOTE: Email MFA must be enabled before activating HeroCorp Mobile MFA.

To set up HeroCorp Mobile MFA:

1. Download and install the HeroCorp Mobile app.
2. Sign in to your account. On a new device, you’ll need to authenticate using your email MFA code on the first sign-in.
3. In the account management page, Click the "Activate" button next to HeroCorp Mobile to display a QR code.
4. In the app, click the QR code button to scan the QR code shown on your account management page.
   • If you’re on mobile, tapping the QR code will open the app for authentication.
5. A pop-up will ask if you want to enable MFA. Tap the red "Enable" button to continue.
6. If successful, you’ll see a confirmation that HeroCorp Mobile is enabled and that you’ll receive notifications to approve sign-in attempts.
   • If notifications are off by default, you’ll be reminded to enable them instead.

After completing the setup, the website will confirm that MFA is enabled, and you will also receive a confirmation email.

To disable HeroCorp Mobile MFA, visit your account management page and click the "Disable" button.

Using Authenticator for MFA

Another method you can use to authenticate is by using another authentication device to verify. You can either use Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. All you need to do is to download the app from Google Play or Apple mobile, then follow the instructions for each platform from their dedicated support articles and BOOM, your account is even more secure!

If I only use my email, do I have to enter the code every time?

Not if you don't want to! In the launcher, under the field where you enter the MFA code, you'll see a box that says Remember this app for 30 days. Check it, and you won't have to enter a code again for a whole month. Just remember to only do this on a trusted device, like your personal computer or mobile phone. (Note that this is a separate checkbox from the one that keeps you signed in.)

How do I disable MFA?

Much like the activation process, deactivating MFA only takes a few simple steps.

Remember that disabling MFA means removing a major layer of protection from your account, so only disable it if you're completely sure.

1. Sign in to your HeroCorp account page.
2. Locate the Multi-Factor Authentication card.
3. Click the Disable button.
4. Review the pop-up, and click Disable if you’re sure.

MFA is now disabled on your account. If you want to reactivate it, follow the steps above.

My account is connected to devices I no longer use. Can I log out of them remotely?

You sure can! To log out of all devices, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your HeroCorp account page.
2. Locate the Login Management card.
3. Click the LOG OUT EVERYWHERE button.

This will not only log you out of all devices, but also revoke their “trusted device” status.

My MFA emails are going to an email address I no longer have access to. What can I do?

In this case, your only option is contact player support. Please /submit a ticket below so we can help you get the process started.

I didn't activate MFA but I'm still getting authentication emails.

Some big account changes—like updating your email, changing your password, or switching your linked social authentication—automatically include MFA for your security.
