Cannot Update and Launch League of Legends

If you are unable to update League of Legends (it’s stuck at 0% Download), it might your antivirus software clashing with a recent patch. 

As a workaround, it may help to temporarily enable Passive Mode (at your own risk!) to update League of Legends: 

To temporarily enable Passive Mode: 

1. Enable Passive Mode:
   

   • Avast Antivirus - https://support.avast.com/article/antivirus-passive-mode/ 
   • AVG Antivirus - https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlName=AVG-Antivirus-Passive-Mode&supportType=home 
2. Update League of Legends
3. Disable Passive Mode
   • Use the instructions from Step 1 to clear the Passive Mode setting
